Neurofeedback & EMDR
How They Can Benefit You

At Wellspring Brain Care, we believe real change comes from the brain. Our approach goes beyond words, working directly with your brain’s natural wiring to build lasting wellness. We help adults who feel stuck by training the brain (through neurofeedback) and gently reprocessing difficult memories (EMDR) to improve focus, calm, and emotional balance.

Whether you’re navigating life with ADHD, autism, anxiety, trauma, or sensory processing challenges, our compassionate team guides you on a personalized path to a healthier, more balanced life.

Our Services

1

Wellspring Insight™
Brain Map

We start by creating a detailed “brain map” of your unique neural activity. This non-invasive EEG assessment highlights how your brain networks are working – for example, where focus may be hard to sustain or where stress signals are high. Understanding your brain’s patterns lets us tailor a plan just for you. Neurofeedback can then nurture the areas needing support so you can reach your full potential.

2

Wellspring Brain Training™
In-Office and At-Home

Based on your Insight map, we design a balanced brain-training program. In weekly neurofeedback sessions (in our calm office or at home with our guidance), sensors monitor your brainwaves as you watch a simple game or video. When your brain produces desired patterns (like focused or calm waves), you’re rewarded in real time, teaching your brain to self-regulate. We also integrate EMDR therapy when needed. Together, this training helps reduce overwhelm and improve focus and emotional control.

3

Wellspring Shop™
Health & Wellness

We complement therapy with supportive tools and practices. Our curated Shop features mindfulness guides, relaxation aids, sensory-friendly products (like noise-canceling headphones or weighted blankets), and supplements known to support brain health. These resources are chosen to empower you on days between sessions,  helping to reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and reinforce the calm and focus you’re building in therapy.

Is Neurofeedback or EMDR
right for you?

Who Can Benefit from Neurofeedback Brain Training?

Neurofeedback is for any adult ready to optimize their brain function. It directly trains your brain for better focus, calm, and adaptability. Our clients include adults who feel wired or distracted, for example, those with ADHD, autism, or sensory sensitivities. It’s also proven effective in calming anxiety. By learning to produce calmer, more focused brainwave patterns, you can reduce impulsivity and overwhelm and improve daily functioning.

Who Can Benefit from EMDR?

EMDR helps you feel more in control of stressful memories and build resilience to triggers. It's particularly effective for those who are:

  • Feeling stuck after talk therapy:
Neurofeedback offers a dynamic, nonverbal approach. If traditional therapy alone hasn’t given you the results you want, neurofeedback works directly on brain networks for lasting change. EMDR builds on therapy by targeting the bodily responses in memory. It helps you move past limits that talk therapy alone can’t reach.

  • Adults with ADHD, Autism, or Sensory Differences:
Neurofeedback trains attention networks and arousal levels, reducing distractibility and sensory overwhelm. Over weeks of training, your brain learns to stay more calmly engaged. EMDR can help unwind the anxiety or emotional stresses often tied to sensory or social overwhelm, making daily life feel more manageable.

  • Adults with Anxiety, Depression, or Trauma:
Neurofeedback calms the brain’s stress centers, lowering chronic anxiety and improving mood. You’ll learn to enter a more relaxed state even under pressure. EMDR directly addresses trauma and panic: it has been shown to significantly reduce PTSD and anxiety symptoms, freeing you from the hold of past events and anxious beliefs.

  • Holistic Brain Wellness & Peak Performance:
Neurofeedback aligns with a natural wellness philosophy, strengthening mental resilience without medication. It sharpens focus, creativity, and stress management, which is helpful for high achievers or anyone seeking mental optimization. EMDR complements this by addressing underlying emotional blocks, clearing them without drugs so you can reach your full potential.

FAQs

Q: What is neurofeedback therapy?

Neurofeedback is a noninvasive mind-body therapy that uses EEG sensors to monitor brainwave patterns in real time. You sit comfortably with sensors on your scalp while watching a simple game or video. The game responds to your brain’s activity (for example, it plays louder or scores points when your brain produces calmer, focused waves). Over many sessions, your brain learns to stay in those healthier patterns on its own. There’s no medication or electrical stimulation – it’s like training your brain with visual and auditory feedback.

Q: What is EMDR therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured therapy for processing emotional trauma and anxiety. During EMDR, you’ll recall distressing memories while our therapist guides you with gentle bilateral stimulation (such as side-to-side eye movements or hand taps). This dual focus helps your brain rewire how it stores that memory, reducing its emotional impact. Clients often feel immediate relief as EMDR helps transform “stuck” negative beliefs and intense emotions into calmer, more adaptive responses.

Q: Can neurofeedback or EMDR help with ADHD, autism, or anxiety?
Absolutely. Neurofeedback is effective for improving focus and self-regulation in ADHD and sensory-processing conditions. It can also reduce overarousal and anxiety by training your brain toward balance. EMDR isn’t a standard ADHD or autism treatment per se, but it can greatly help the anxiety, trauma, or frustration that often accompany neurodivergent experiences. For example, adults with high anxiety or past trauma can find that EMDR quickly eases panic and fear response. In practice, many neurodivergent adults benefit from combining both: neurofeedback trains attention and calm, while EMDR clears emotional blocks.
Q: How many sessions will I need to see improvement?

Everyone is different, but many clients notice early changes after about 10–20 neurofeedback sessions. For lasting gains, we often recommend a full course of 30–40 sessions (similar to building long-term strength or skills). For EMDR, treatment is often shorter: typically around 6–12 sessions on average, though some people need more or fewer depending on their history. We’ll discuss your goals and monitor progress closely so you know what to expect on your personal timeline.

Q: What happens during a session?

Neurofeedback sessions are relaxing and pain-free. You might sit or recline while light EEG sensors (like soft stickers) are placed on your scalp; these only record brain activity. You then watch a computer screen or listen to sounds (often you won’t even notice it’s a “therapy” session – many compare it to playing a video game). When your brain maintains the target brainwave pattern, the system gives positive feedback (for example, the game moves forward or the music plays smoothly). Many clients find it calm and even enjoyable. EMDR sessions involve talking briefly about what you want to process and then following our gentle prompts (like watching our hand move back and forth) while focusing on a memory. You stay fully in control and can pause anytime. Both therapies are guided step-by-step by our trained clinicians and are designed to keep you comfortable and safe throughout.

Q: Are these therapies evidence-based and safe?

Yes. Both neurofeedback and EMDR have a strong research foundation and are FDA-listed biofeedback therapies. They are non-drug, non-surgical, and generally very safe. For example, studies show neurofeedback significantly reduces PTSD symptoms and anxiety. Decades of research support EMDR for trauma and anxiety. We’re proud that our clinicians are BCIA-certified and follow established protocols. We also closely monitor your comfort: side effects are rare (sometimes mild headache or fatigue), and we adjust the pace to keep you supported. In short, these therapies are scientifically supported ways to improve mental health without medication, and our team provides them with utmost care and professionalism.

We look forward to being a part of your wellness journey!
